ROAI - Or How to Maximize your investment in AI
Here's a personal take on how I got the most out of my AI usage
![]() | Gen AI is not just for technical folks, everyone should be able to do a little bit of dabbling in AI, this newsletter will be focusing on it. I personally have no fixed AI subscription - I believe AI model which I am using will become obsolete next month. I have tried ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Kimi, Deepseek and list goes on... |
I am a big fan of the show Survivor, if you are in the middle, you are in the perfect place. The pace of improvement is staggering what once took 6-9 months between model iterations has accelerated to 3-4 months
You and your company should ‘vibe code’ pretty much everything. For instance, I hate asking traditional questions to our new recruits. I only have 30 minutes to judge the candidates quickly. I vibe-coded an interesting question to ask that is technical and yet shows how a candidate thinks about AI. Check it out
My request is to invest a little in these tools and see if you are getting the ROI before going to your manager or team.
This will get you started on a journey which will be rewarding:
Granola.ai - I hate note-taker bots, but appreciate not taking deep notes. Granola solves the problem and allows you to take notes of any calls you are on, sign up and try it for free.
Lovable - Allows you to vibe code your simple tasks into tools.
Claude/Chatgpt - I switch both of them based on who has a better release. I export my prompts regularly. Use Deep-research as well to learn more about something instead of google search.
Manus.im - Agent to do the research for you.
Here’s all I’ve been reading up on to better understand ROAI and how to make the most of it.
You already have the superpower to turn job searches into life changing moments. Imagine supercharging that gift with a tool that lets you focus even more on what you do best. I’m not asking you to become a tech wizard. I’m simply encouraging you to use AI to your best advantage. All you need to do is channel your curiosity and the willingness to explore.
Start small. Win big. Use AI to sort through resumes. Let it take care of screening profiles and scheduling interviews, and with the time you get back, think strategically, coach candidates and strengthen client relationships. Connect deeper, build trust, and make decisions you feel proud of.
Don’t wait. Experiment today. No one has a blueprint for this. You give it a try and see what happens. The more you play, the more you’ll discover.
Be the hero to your team. Show your clients/managers/co-workers cool tools which can potentially bring that sweet recognition. Tell them about how fastly you filled the role with the perfect fit. How you spent more time with the candidate and how your process just works better. That’s what builds trust and sets you apart.
We don’t have to automate everything at once. Take one workflow at a time, master it and let the magic happen. You’ve already got the instincts. Now let tech lift some of the weight.
